Finally!

I though he'd never leave!

My name is Broccoli, and my dad is the owner of Romp Pet Care.  He's out and about helping take care of the puppies and kitties of Philly, so I only have a few minutes...

I read a lot (oh come on, I can use a computer, why wouldn't you think I could read?!) and well, I come across a lot of great news, articles, events, and information that would help make a lot of owners and pets a lot happier!  So I am here to pass it on to you!

So check back often for updates...because I have a lot to say, and dad's got a lot of pets to take care of!

Skippy Peanut Butter Recall

Now I know some pups are a sucker for peanut butter, so puppy parents listen up!

Skippy Peanut BUtter Recall

According to a press release, dated March 7, 2011, from the Food and Drug Administration [FDA], the manufacturer of Skippy Peanut Butter, Unilever United States, has recalled two of its products sold in 16 states due to the possibility of salmonella contamination. The company recalled 16.3 ounce plastic jars of Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter and Skippy Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter, after routine testing showed salmonella may be present.

And yes, we do know there's a pill in there....

But it just tastes so darn good!

Wellness Canned Cat Food Recall

Okay, so don't tell any dogs this...but I kind of like cats too.  I know, I know.  I'm  a horrible dog...but they're kinda cute in their own little way.

So against my canine instincts, I thought I should share this for all of you kitty owners out there.  Wellness is doing a voluntary canned cat food recall - apparently some may have insufficient levels of B1 (or thiamine).  You can find out more here:

And please don't tell anyone about my kitty thing.  I get made fun of enough at the dog park when mom puts a bow by my butt.  *sheesh*

Even though I pee on the Earth regularly...

Who said only people care about the environment?!

So while I may pee on the earth on a frequent occasion, it doesn't mean I don't care about our planet! Taking after my daddy's efforts in offsetting Romp Pet Care's carbon footprint, I have decided to offset this blog's footprint as well! We puppies want to have plenty of trees, grass, and parks to romp in for years to come! So come on, get with it, offset your own carbon footprint today! And tell them a dog told you to :)

Pet Food Recall....Again....

*Sigh*.  Seriously folks, how hard is it to make kibble?

Due to possible salmonella contamination, P&G is expanding its voluntary limited recall of several varieties of Iams and Eukanuba dry pet foods.

Less than a week after announcing the recall of specific lots of Iams Renal Dry Cat Food, Procter & Gamble is voluntarily expanding its recall to include a wider range of specialized dry pet foods that also have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.

Although no salmonella-related illnesses have been reported yet, the product list is extensive. Products included are Iams Veterinary Dry Formulas, Eukanuba Naturally Wild, Eukanuba Pure, and Eukanuba Custom Care Sensitive Skin. All dry sizes and varieties of these products with a “best-by” date of July 1, 2010 through December 01, 2011 are included in the recall.

A full listing of UPC codes can be found by visiting www.iams.com
